Actually this is widely believed to be a hoax. No one is sure who
started it but there was a "press release" that went around over the
weekend about it, the G/GPUSA website probably picked that up and
hasn't heard yet that it was a hoax.
Nader has not confirmed to be at any such event. Gore has not
confirmed to be at any such event. "Judicial Watch" is a strongly
anti-clinton pro-impeachment conservative group so it is unclear why
Gore would ever confirm or why Bush _wouldn't_ confirm if such an
event existed. It is also unclear whether the debate would be
suffiently neutrally moderated to be worthwhile.
It is important to note that www.greenparty.org is the website for The
Greens/Green Party USA (G/GPUSA) which is one of 2 national green
parties. The other national party is The Association of State Green
Parties (ASGP), their website is www.green-party.org.
Ralph Nader and Winona LaDuke have fully endorsed the platform of the
ASGP but _not_ of the G/GPUSA. In this sense the ASGP is the more
"official" of the two national green parties. The G/GPUSA supports
Nader/LaDuke but they are a little more out of the loop. The G/GPUSA
has what many see to be an unrealistic platform and more interest in
direct action politics than electoral politics.
I happen to like and support both the ASGP and the G/GPUSA but your
milage may vary and you should always know that www.votenader.org and
www.green-party.org are the only "official" sources of information on
Nader's campaign and Nader's stances.
